Here is the simple recipe
3/4 Cup Heavy Cream
12 ounces high quality chocolate, finely chopped
1 to 2 tablespoons Cognac, brandy or liqueur
Heat the cream in a heavy bottom sauce pan until very hot. Add the chocolate and let stand until softened, about 3 minutes. Add the cognac, now whisk together. SERVE
